Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.
Hillsboro
July 29 – A motorist was contacted for a gas skip at Hillsboro Ampride and returned to pay for fuel.
July 30 – A motorist was warned for texting while driving, and a teenager was warned for being out after curfew at Memorial Park.
July 31 – A traffic complaint for motorists speeding was reported on A St.
Aug. 1 – A resident reported concerns about her social security number being used by someone else to pay taxes.
Aug. 2 – A civil standby was provided at Hillsboro Industries, and a broken glass door was reported at a house in the 300 block of N. Cedar St. Items were reported missing from a vehicle in the 200 block of S. Main St.
Aug. 3 – A noninjury accident was investigated, and an unwanted person was reported in the 300 block of S. Kennedy St. left before officers arrived.
Marion
July 29 – Officers investigated a non-injury accident in the 100 block of N. Thorp St., and a 911 disconnect in the 200 block of E. Main St. A motorist received a citation for driving with a suspended license, and four received citations for unattended trailers in the road.
July 30 – A resident was warned for blowing grass clippings into the road in the 100 block of S. Roosevelt St., and a loose dog in the 200 block of N. Lincoln St. couldn’t be found.
July 31 – Officers investigated a 911 disconnect in the 400 block of Locust St.
Aug. 1 – A motorist was warned for a J-turn in the 400 block of E. Main St., and a loose dog was returned to its owner. Motorists were warned for no tag lights, and a motorist received a citation for possession of alcohol by a minor on Flint Rock Rd.
Aug. 2 – A motorist was warned for no turn signal near Main and Locust Sts., and a motorist received a citation for parking on the sidewalk in the 200 block of E. Main St.
Aug. 3 – Officers investigated a possible chemical smell near the VFW, but nothing was found. A motorist was warned for no road lights in the 600 block of W. Main St.
Peabody
July 29 – Officers provided a welfare check in the 500 block of N. Olive St.
July 30 – A civil matter in the 500 block of N. Olive St. was investigated.
Aug. 2 – civil matter was investigated.
