Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

June 23 – A motorist received assistance with directions. A juvenile was detained on suspicion of driving under the influence of narcotics at Orchard St. and US-56, but no charges have been filed pending test results. A juvenile received a citation for being out after curfew.

June 24 – Police investigated a complaint about a dog in the 400 block of N. Ash St. and assisted a motorist out of gas on US-56.

June 25 – A motorist received assistance for a flat tire on Indigo Rd. A traffic complaint was in the 500 block of E. D St., and a dog complaint in the 100 block of S. Date St. were investigated

June 26 – A lost wallet was turned over to officers, who also stood by during a civil matter in the 900 block of E. D St. Trespassing in the 300 block of W. 3rd St., and a missing person were reported. A suspicious vehicle was investigated in the 300 block of Arbor Court, and another suspicious vehicle was investigated on Park Ave. A false alarm was investigated in the 900 block of E. D St.

June 27 – A bicycle abandoned in the 100 block of Elm St. was returned to its owner, and a motorist received assistance with engine failure in the 500 block of S. Washington St.

June 28 – A 2-year-old child accidentally locked in a vehicle in the 300 block of N. Ash St. was released in less than 10 minutes. The vehicle had been parked in the shade.

Marion

June 24 – A motorist received a citation for driving with a suspended license and no proof of liability insurance in the 800 block of N. Roosevelt St. Officers took a report of an overdue motorist, and the motorist was found.

June 25 – A loose dog captured near Hudson and Locust Sts. was taken to Animal Health Center. Officers attempted to contact a resident with a message from a family member, and stood by during a civil matter in the 900 block of Maple St. Officers questioned someone found to be going through trash behind a building.

June 26 – A suspicious person walking around St. Luke Hospital was found to be waiting for a ride. A motorist was warned for speeding near Main and Elm Sts. An out-of-control juvenile was reported in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St., but no action was taken. Motorists were warned for failing to signal near Cedar and Main Sts., and speeding in the 100 block of Locust St.

June 27 – A person taking property from a vacant residence in the 300 block of Locust St. was found to have had permission. A civil standby was provided in the 300 block of S. Freeborn St. Motorists were warned for speeding at US-56 and Cedar St. and in the 700 block of E. Main St. and for failing to stop at Elm and Main Sts.

June 28 – A resident told police about an unwelcome guest the night before. A water leak was reported to city crews. Officers investigated a harassment complaint and a possible disabled vehicle on US-56. A motorist was warned for having no license tag light on US-56 near Upland Rd.
