Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

June 9 – A dog complaint in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St., and a trespass complaint in the 100 block of S. Date St. were reported.

June 10 – A disturbance reported in the 900 block of E. D St. ended up being a verbal argument between several people.

June 11 – A suspicious vehicle was investigated in Memorial Park, and a welfare check was conducted in the 500 block of S. Washington St.

June 12 – Officers met with parents to discuss their child’s behavior.

June 13 – A traffic hazard of children in an alley was reported between the 100 blocks of N. Main and N. Washington Sts. A dog complaint was reported in the 100 block of S. Cedar St., and a welfare check was provided in the 500 block of S. Washington St.

June 14 – A noise complaint was reported in the 100 block of N. Birch St.

June 15 – A person made several calls to 911 but the reports turned out to be false. Suspicious activity was reported at Memorial Park, and a welfare check was provided in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. A water leak was investigated in the 100 block of S. Lincoln St., and a noise complaint was reported in the 100 block of N. Birch St.

Marion

June 10 – A loose dog in the 300 block of Locust St. was taken to Animal Health Center, and a motorist was warned for a taillight near 4th and Main Sts. An individual in the 200 block of N. Roosevelt St. received assistance contacting a family member. Officers also investigated suspicious activity in the 200 block of N. Roosevelt St.

June 11 – A scam attempt was reported. Officers responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of S. Freeborn St., but no action was taken.

June 12 – A domestic disturbance was reported in the 400 block of S. 4th St., but the suspect left before officers arrived. A commercial alarm was investigated in the 200 block of E. Main St.

June 13 – A civil standby was conducted at Marion Country Club. A loose dog in the 300 block of S. Freeborn St. was picked up by the owner, and a civil standby was conducted in the 400 block of S. 4th St. A motorist received a citation for transporting an open container near 3rd and Main Sts. Officers responded to the transfer station for lights left on in a city truck. The key holder was contacted, and turned the lights off. A motorist received a citation for speeding 31 mph in a 20 mph zone near Main and Lincoln Sts.

June 14 – A motorist was warned for an expired tag near Main and Lincoln Sts., and a report of a suspicious person in the 1500 block of E. Main St. was investigated.

June 15 – A motorist received a citation for brake light out and driving with a revoked license in the 700 block of S. Cedar St., and an arrest warrant was served in the 700 block of N. Cedar St.

June 16 – A motorist was warned for speeding near 3rd and Main Sts., and a suspicious person was reported in the 400 block of S. Coble St. A motorist was warned for no tag light on US-56 near mile 301.

Peabody

June 16 – An inoperable vehicle case was filed with the city prosecutor for two vehicles in the 400 block of N. Elm St. A burglary attempt was reported in the 200 block of W. Division St., but the suspect failed to break in.
