Sept. 2 — A dog was returned to its owner.

Sept. 3 — Officers issued a warning for operation of an unauthorized vehicle and assisted the fire department with a possible gas leak in the 200 block of W. Grand St.

Sept. 4 — A report of a lost cell phone was taken, knocked-over traffic cones on D. St. were replaced, and a commercial alarm in the 300 block of N. Ash St. was investigated.

Sept. 5 — A commercial alarm in the 300 block of N. Ash St. was investigated, a report was taken of a suspicious person in the 500 block of W. Grand St., and report of a suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of N. Main St. was investigated.

Thursday — A bicycle was removed from the roadway on Indigo Rd. An item lost in Hillsboro Heights was recovered and returned it to its owner. A domestic disturbance in the 300 block of N. Jefferson was investigated and Dennis A. Meyers, 42, Hillsboro, was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery and criminal damage to property.

Friday — An abandoned vehicle in the 400 block of N. Ash St. was investigated, and officers took a parking complaint in the 400 block of S. Lincoln St.

Saturday — Reports of a suspicious vehicle at First and Washington Sts., juveniles operating a bicycle in an unsafe manner on Indigo Rd. and a reckless driver on US 56 were investigated.

Aug. 29 — Two bobcats were reported in the city cemetery, but were not located. A noise complaint on N. Locust St. was investigated.

Aug. 30 — A noise complaint of a person crying was a woman who was sick and depressed but declined help. Two dogs at large were taken to Animal Health Center.

Aug. 31 — Two juveniles were cited for curfew violation.

Sept. 1 — A property owner in the 600 block of W. Main St. with possible vandalism declined to file a report. Booms reported east of Eisenhower Dr. turned out to be dove hunters. A cow out on Sunflower Rd. just south of the city limit was returned to its pasture.

Sept. 2 — Dove hunters east of Eisenhower were reported again.

Sept. 3 — A report of a domestic dispute on Washington St. turned out that no crime had been committed.

Sept. 5 — The owner of a burned home at 205 N. Lincoln reported someone had attempted to enter the structure.

Thursday — A child found crying in the 100 block of Freeborn St. at 5 a.m. was returned to parents.

Friday — Three improper parking complaints were investigated and owners were told to park correctly. Two reckless drivers were given verbal warnings.

Saturday — The driver of an illegally parked car at 2nd and Main Sts. and a speeding driver were given warnings. A dog at large was taken to Animal Health Center and a second dog at large in the 400 block of S. Roosevelt was returnedto owner. Citations were given for no driver’s license and no tag light in the 900 block of N. Cedar and a verbal warning for no tag light was given to another driver.

Peabody

Sept. 1 — Officers found lost property in the 100 block of W. 6th St.

Sept. 2 —Franklin Davis, 48, Peabody, was arrested on suspicion of driving while suspended and no proof of insurance.

Sept. 5 — Officers began an investigation of sexual assault involving a juvenile victim and took a report of Social Security fraud which is being investigated by the Social Security Administration.

Thursday — Theft of a financial card was reported.

Friday — Police took an information report on juveniles arguing at school and turned discipline matters over to the school.

Saturday — An information report was taken on an out-of-control juvenile. Officers investigated a complaint of battery in the 200 block of Division and forwarded a complaint to the county attorney.
