Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

March 18 — Officers checked an abandoned vehicle in the 900 block of E. D St., took a report of a lost dog in the 300 block of N. Washington St., and assisted a motorist on Indigo Rd.

March 19 — Officers investigated a trespass complaint in the 900 block of E. D St.

March 20 — Officers investigated a report of suspicious activity at 1st and Washington Sts. and a dog complaint at Washington and C Sts. Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of S. Washington St. and arrested Sabrina L. Hessel, 23, on suspicion of domestic battery for striking a 29-year-old man in the face during an argument.

March 21 — Officers investigated a shoplifting complaint in the 100 block of W. Grand St., and took a report of suspicious phone text activity.

Thursday — Officers investigated dog complaints at Ash and Grand Sts. and in the 100 block of N. Adams St.

Friday — Officers responded to a dispute between a landlord and tenant at an undisclosed location. Reports were taken of abandoned property at Ash and Grand Sts., an out-of-control child, a 911 disconnect in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St., a reckless driver on US-56, and two suspicious persons at an undisclosed location.

March 11 — Officers investigated a report of an open garage door in the 700 block of S. Roosevelt St. and determined nothing was amiss.

March 13 — Officers conducted a welfare check in the 200 block of N. 2nd St., intervened with an out-of-control student at OASIS and escorted the student home, investigated a report of criminal damage to property, and gave an oral warning for a non-working headlight.

March 14 — Officers received a report of a dog missing from the 100 block of N. Freeborn St., and an officer and the owner located the dog and returned it home. The same dog was reported at large again in the 100 block of S. Cedar St., and the owner was contacted and the dog secured.

March 15 — Officers responded to a residence on Fink St. for a juvenile that would not go to school and assisted in getting the student to school. Officers investigated a report of a stolen license plate.

March 16 — Officers took a report of criminal damage to property in the 100 block of S. Freeborn St.

March 17 — Officers investigated a report of suspicious activity north of the former Pizza Hut, issued an oral warning for a defective headlight and resolved a parking complaint.

March 18 — Officers issued oral warnings to motorists for a defective tail light, illegal U-turn, and speeding.

March 19 — Officers responded to a non-injury accident on Industrial Rd. and issued a citation for driving with a suspended license.

March 20 — Officers investigated a report of a suspended driver at Main and 2nd Sts. Upon investigation, officers determined an alarm at Tampa State Bank was accidentally triggered by custodial help. Officers conducted a welfare check at Hilltop Apartments. An officer responded to Hillsboro to assist in a domestic battery situation in which one person was arrested.

Thursday — Officers served an arrest warrant in the 700 block of N. Cedar St.

Saturday — Officers assisted with an accident on Upland Rd. and with removing debris on 190th Rd. between Marion and Hillsboro. Officers issued an oral warning for speeding. A call was received about phone harassment, but the victim declined to file a report.

March 19 — Police worked a non-injury accident in the Dollar General parking lot.

March 20 — Robert E. Findley, 31, was arrested on suspicion of driving on a revoked license, fleeing and alluding, failure to stop at a stop sign, and interference with law enforcement. Victor Jaso, 55, was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery.

March 24 — Police took a report of theft in the 200 block of N. Walnut St.

March 25 — Police took a report of theft in the 800 block of Prairie Lawn Rd., a report of aggravated burglary in the 700 block of Elm St. was investigated, and police performed a welfare check.
