Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

hillsboro

Jan. 7 — Officers investigated a child welfare incident, an animal welfare concern in the 300 block of N. Washington St., and a suspicious phone call in Hillsboro Heights.

Jan. 8 — Officers assisted a motorist at Adams St. and US-56 and responded to a dog complaint in the 200 block of S. Cedar St.

Jan. 10 — Officers investigated a commercial alarm in Hillsboro Heights and a dog complaint at 1st and Washington Sts. Officers responded to a non-injury accident in the 100 block of W. D St.

Thursday — Officers took a report of a criminal threat in the 400 block of S. Jefferson St. and performed a civil standby at the industrial park.

Friday — Officers responded to a verbal altercation between two men in the 400 block of N. Ash St. and investigated a gas skip at Casey’s General Store.

Saturday — A natural gas odor in the 200 block of N. Madison St. and parking complaints in the 200 block of S. Ash St. and 400 block of N. Ash St. were investigated. Officers assisted with a possible suicidal subject at Hillsboro Community Hospital, and performed a welfare check in the 400 block of N. Ash St.

Jan. 1 — Officers issued a notice to appear for an expired tag at US-56 and Remington Rd. and issued an oral warning for speeding on Main St. Officers checked a suspicious vehicle parked at Marion Auto Supply.

Jan. 2 — Officers took a report of a criminal threat involving a juvenile and issued two oral warnings for speeding.

Jan. 3 — Officers investigated a domestic dispute in the 300 block of N. Roosevelt St. and removed drug paraphernalia from house. A civil standby was performed. Officers assisted fire department with alarm at Sports and Aquatic Center.

Jan. 4 — Officers performed a welfare check and issued an oral warning for speeding.

Jan. 5 — Officers investigated a criminal damage and theft complaint in the 300 block of N. Roosevelt St. and an attempted break-in in the 700 block of S. Freeborn St. Officers investigated an allergic reaction to water alleged by the individual to be poisoning by her ex-boyfriend. A report of a person hiding in an attic in the 300 block of N. Roosevelt St. was investigated and no one was found. A possible rollover accident on Sunflower Rd. was investigated. Officers made multiple trips to the 500 block of N. Cedar St. for reports of someone shining flash lights and laser pointers into a residence, but no one was found. Officers called Marion ambulance to evaluate the reporting party, who declined.

Jan. 6 — Officers responded two more times to the same residence in the 500 block of N. Cedar for reports that were not substantiated; the woman was taken to Hillsboro Community Hospital. Officers assisted with a car chase, terminating their response in the northern part of the county.

Jan. 7 — Officers issued three oral warnings for speed and one for a tail light infraction and issued a citation for no insurance. Officers investigated a car striking a deer in the 600 block of W. Main St. and responded to an unattended death in the 300 block of S. 3rd St.

Jan. 8 — Officers took a report of possible theft at storage units on N. Roosevelt St.

Jan. 9 — Officers picked up a stray dog and took it to Animal Health Center, and investigated reports of two dogs at large. Officers issued an oral warning for speeding and stopped a vehicle on US-56 for having a blue light shining toward the front of the vehicle and a tinted plate over its license plate.

Jan. 10 — Officers issued two oral warnings for speeding and one for an expired tag. A citation was issued for an expired license, expired tag, and no proof of insurance.

Jan. 11 — Officers took a report of a dog bite at St. Luke Hospital, issued an oral warning for failure to signal a turn, and stopped a bicyclist for not having a required light.

Jan. 12 — Officers investigated a complaint of a dog without water.

Jan. 13 — Officers issued a citation for speeding (78 mph in a 65mph zone on US-56) and an oral warning for speed. Officers investigated a report of a dog at large and returned the dog to its pen.

Dec. 10 — Joseph Cox, Independence Missouri, was cited for driving on a suspended license.

Dec. 11 —Officers investigated a non-injury accident at the corner of 5th and Walnut Sts. where there was damage to a telephone pole and street sign. Tickets were issued to a juvenile for leaving the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident.

Dec. 12 — Misty Williams, Lincolnville, was cited for driving on an expired license.
