Police chief issues more reminders

Drivers in Peabody are being reminded to come to a full and complete stop at a stop sign or flashing light red light.

“We are going to start cracking down and issuing tickets,” Police Chief Bruce Burke said. “There are too many drivers making a ‘California stop’ or rolling stop. The vehicle must come to a complete stop. All motion must cease before the car can pull away from the sign or light.”

Burke also reminds young people that they are not to skateboard in the downtown business district or on Ninth Street.

“No surface downtown is approved for skateboarding,” he added. “I don’t know how to make it any plainer than that.”

For more information, contact Burke at (620) 983-2133.
