ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

April 1 — Illicit drugs were found during investigation of a non-injury accident in the 100 block of N. Main St., and a driver was arrested. Another non-injury accident was investigated in the 100 block of Park Ave. A driver was ticketed for having expired registration in the 300 block of N. Ash St. A disconnected 911 call from the 700 block of S. Washington St. was attributed to a child playing with a phone.

April 2 — Police helped school staff deal with a student issue. A driver in the 600 block of N. Ashe St. was warned for running a stop sign and one in the 800 block of E. D St. was ticketed for speeding. A parking complaint in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. was investigated.

April 3 — A driver in the 900 block of E. D St. was warned for speeding. Police stood by during a civil matter in the 100 block of N. Washington St.

Thursday — Police investigated a report of a dog bite, helped a resident with a computer matter, and looked into a traffic complaint in the 100 block of N. Main St.

Friday — No problems were found in checking on a disconnected 911 call from the 200 block of S. Washington St.

Saturday — Police directed traffic while debris was removed from a roadway. A disturbance in the 300 block of W. 3rd St. was investigated, but police determined the situation was not sufficient for a criminal case. An alarm at Ampride proved accidental.

Sunday — Police disposed of an apparently sick skunk.

MARION

April 1 — A resident reported receiving scam phone calls.

April 2 — A driver was warned for making a J-turn in the 200 block of E. Main St.

April 3 — A driver at Main and 4th Sts. was ticketed for going 34 mph in a 20-mph zone. A driver at US-56 and Cedar St. was warned for speeding. A resident talked to police about a driving complaint.

Thursday — A non-injury accident near Main and 4th Sts. was investigated. A red convertible reported to be suspiciously driving around Marion Elementary School was not located. An unwanted visitor was told not to return to a residence in the 400 block of S. Roosevelt St. Drivers were warned for speeding at US-56 and Industrial St. and US-56 and Cedar St.

Friday — A vehicle involved in a reported hit-and-run accident in the 1000 block of E. Main St. was located, and charges are pending with the county attorney. A driver was ticketed for going 32 mph in a 20-mph zone in the 600 block of E. Main St.

Saturday — Police tested students’ breath for alcohol at the Marion High School prom and after-prom.
