ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
Jan. 22 — A driver in the 500 block of N. Adams St. was warned for not using headlights. Police helped a person who had fallen on ice and directed traffic while a vehicle was removed from a ditch at US-56 and Ash St. No problems were found in checking a report of reckless driving at Adams St. and Grand Ave.
Jan. 23 — Police discussed a complaint of harassment and trespassing in the 200 block of S. Cedar St.
Jan. 24 — A driver was warned about making a J-turn in the 100 block of N. Main St. No problems were found in checking a noise complaint in the 100 block of N. Main St.
Thursday — A disconnected 911 call from the 300 block of S. Washington St. was attributed to accidental dialing. A resident asked about scheduling a time for police to stand by during a civil matter.
Friday — A dog loose in the 200 block of S. Washington St. was caught by its owner. A dog reported to be loose on US-56 near Sonic Drive-in was not found. A fender-bender at Cooperative Grain and Supply was investigated.
Saturday — A 39-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly kicked his live-in girlfriend in the 100 block of N. Washington St. Police stood by during a civil matter in the 400 block of S. Main St.
Sunday — A hit-and-run fender-bender was investigated. Police talked to a resident about a civil property dispute.
MARION
Jan. 22 — A fender-bender in the 900 block of Melvin St. was investigated. A dog loose in the 200 block of Walnut St. was captured by its owner. Police stood by during a civil matter in the 300 block of Locust St. and checked on the welfare of a resident of the 200 block of S. Freeborn St.
Jan. 23 — Police were sent to the special education cooperative’s Oasis school to deal with an issue involving a student.
Thursday — Police talked to a member of a struggling family about services available.
Friday — Police were sent to the 100 block of N. Thorp St. to deal with a student who had walked away from school.
