ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Feb. 6 — A vehicle was stolen in the 100 block of N. Washington St. Insurance cards were found at an Emprise Bank teller machine. Police checked on a student who had not been attending classes. Two dogs were reported running free outside the city limits on K-15. No problems were found in checking on a disconnected 911 call from the 200 block of S. Wilson St.

Feb. 7 — A vehicle stolen the day before was recovered by Winfield police at a motel there. A dog bite was reported in the 500 block of S. Ash St. The dog was not located. A resident also complained about a dog complaint in the 300 block of S. Washington St. Harassment was reported at Casey’s General Store.

Feb. 8 — A bag of cell phone covers was found in the 200 block of N. Main St. A driver in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St. was warned for running a stop sign. A dog reportedly running free at the municipal pool was not found.

Thursday — Drivers in the 900 block of E. D St., the 600 block of S. Ash St., and the 300 block of N. Main St. were warned for speeding. Identification cards found earlier were returned.

Friday — A driver who because of an error at the pump left without paying for gasoline at Ampride returned and paid.

Saturday — A person reportedly asking for money at Dollar General was not found. No problems were found in checking a report of noises in a garage in the 300 block of W. B St. Police discussed a child custody issue.

Sunday — A hitchhiker, put up for the night by a local church group at Country Haven Inn, was taken to Canton.

MARION

Feb. 6 — Police talked to a resident about a parking issue.

Feb. 7 — A driver at US-56 and Upland Rd. was warned for speeding. The welfare of a truant student was checked. No impairment was noted after checking a reportedly impaired driver in the 1100 block of E. Main St.

Feb. 8 — Police discussed with a resident of the 200 block of N. 4th St. the discovery of an abandoned vehicle in another county. Police also spoke with a representative of the Montgomery County sheriff’s department about found property.

Thursday and Friday — Routine activities.

Saturday — A resident complained about a dog in the 300 block of S Lincoln

Sunday — Another complaint was received about an animal in the same block.
