ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

May 2 — Police made contact with someone from Salem Home for whom a caller was looking. They also met with a resident about parking concerns on Adams Street.

May 3 — Motorists were warned at Ash and Willow Sts. for having a broken windshield and in the 200 block of N. Adams St. for having excessively tinted windows.

May 4 — A vehicle parked on private property in the 300 block of S. Ash St. was removed. Police met with a resident about dogs in the 200 block of S. Date St., helped a motorist, checked on an inadvertent call to 911 from Hillsboro High School, and investigated a non-injury accident at Dollar General.

Thursday — One person was injured in a three-vehicle accident in the 100 block of N. Main St. Police removed roadway debris and directed traffic for a trucker at D and Wilson Sts.

Friday — A report of a loud vehicle at Cedar and B St. was determined to be unfounded. Police helped a motorist who ran out of fuel.

Saturday — Keegan Mazur, 18, was arrested in the 900 block of E. D St. on a McPherson warrant. A non-injury accident in the 100 block of S. Main St. was investigated. An open door at a business was secured. A complaint about a possibly intoxicated driver on Indigo Rd. was determined to be unfounded. Damage to a window in the 200 block of N. Washington St. was determined not to be a criminal matter. Police warned people involved in a noisy but non-violent domestic dispute in the 100 block of S. Date St.

Sunday — A parent’s report about kids allegedly stealing candy from a city-owned concession stand remains under investigation. A dog reported as missing was located and returned to its owner. A parking complaint at Adams and D Sts. was resolved. Police could not locate a US-56 vehicle to check on the welfare of its driver.

MARION

May 2 — Officers met with a concerned citizen.

May 3 — A driver was warned for making a J-turn in the 200 block of E. Main St. Officers checked on the welfare of a resident of the 1100 block of E. Main St.

May 4 — Two people were arrested on drug and other charges after a traffic stop at 4th and Main Sts. Police met with the owner of a vehicle blocking a driveway in the 200 block of Garfield St. A driver was warned for making an improper signal.

Thursday — A suspicious person in the 1000 block of E. Main St. was transported to the Harvey County Line. Two drivers were warned for speeding.

Friday — A found license plate was returned to its owner. A driver was cited for going 82 mph in a 65-mph zone near US-56 and Cedar St.

Saturday — No action was taken after a disturbance between juveniles in the 400 block of S. Roosevelt St. Officers were dispatched to an unattended death in the 400 block of Elm St. A storage unit that was left open was secured. Loose dogs picked up near Roosevelt and Melvin St. and in the 900 block of Maple St. were taken to Animal Health Center.

Sunday — Police could not find a resident of the 500 block of Cleveland St. whose welfare they had been asked to check on. A driver was warned for speeding.
