ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Sept. 20 – Police issued a citation for a dog running free in the 100 block of S. Cedar. A delayed report of an accident on private property was investigated. A dog tie-out cable was reported stolen from a fence in the 200 block of S. Adams St.

Sept. 21 – A report of dogs free on rodeo grounds was determined to be unfounded. A citation was issued for exhibition of speed at Ash and D Sts. Police helped locate someone missing from South Hutchinson area and released the person to family members. A warning for an equipment violation was issued.

Sept. 22 — A threat related to dogs running free in the 100 block of S. Cedar St. was investigated. A man was listed as missing after his mother reported she hadn’t had contact with him in weeks. A warning was issued for a J-turn in the 100 block of N. Main St. Police helped evict tenants in the 200 block of Elm St. A bicycle rider was warned for having no lights while riding in the dark.

Thursday — Police helped a resident trying to find missing bicycles. A warning for no tail lights was issued at C and Prairie Point Sts.

Friday — No injuries were reported after an airplane landed with its landing gear up. Warnings were issued for speed at Industrial and US-56, unsafe load at Kanza Rd. and US-56, and no tail lights in the 200 block of N. Ash St.

Saturday — Police investigated a misdial that resulted in a disconnected 911 call in the 200 block of S. Cedar St. A hit-and-run accident in the parking lot of Dollar General was investigated.

Sunday — Police were unable to locate a vehicle reported to be speeding in the 200 block of S. Date St. Police determined to be unfounded reports of a dog running free in the 100 block of E. D St. and of people arguing in the 400 block of N. Ash St.

Marion

Sept. 20 — A lost key was reported. Officers took no action regarding an out-of-control person reported in the 500 block of S. Freeborn St. A warning was issued for speeding.

Sept. 21 — Officers took to Animal Health Center a dog that had been running free. Police contacted the owner of two dogs running free in the 500 block of S. Cedar St. and spoke with two people at the park after curfew.

Sept. 22 — Officers investigated a possible theft in the 1500 block of Sandstone St. A driver was warned for speeding. Police checked on the welfare of a resident in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St. A driver was cited for going 40 mph in a 30-mph zone.

Thursday — Two warnings were issued for speeding. A parking complaint in the 300 block of N. Cedar St. was investigated. Police responded to calls about barking dogs, missing dogs, and found dogs. Police transported a patient from St. Luke to Prairie View.

Friday — A non-injury accident in the 100 block of S. Lincoln St. was investigated.

Saturday — Officers checked on a suspicious vehicle. Police investigated a parking complaint and a noise complaint in the 300 block of N. Cedar St.

Sunday — A driver was cited for speeding 81 mph in a 65-mph zone.
