Feb. 22 — Police assisted a motorist on US-56 and followed up on a traffic accident.

Feb. 23 — Officers investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 500 block of N. Ash St. Police issued a citation to the owner of an unregistered dog running loose in the 300 block of N. Ash St. Officers checked out an alarm in the 100 block of N. Main St.

Feb. 24 — Police investigated a report of a runaway in the 300 block of S. Ash St., but the subject was not at that address. Officers investigated reports of an unattended child on D St., an attempted phone scam, and a dog complaint in the 200 block of S. Date St.

Feb. 25 — Officers issued a trespass notice to an unwanted guest in the 500 block of E. Grand St. Police investigated suspicious activity 300 block of S. Ash St. and a report of a suicidal person who was taken to Hillsboro Community Hospital for an evaluation.

Feb. 26 — Officers helped with a fatality accident on US-56 and investigated non-injury accidents in the 500 block of E. Grand and the 300 block of N. Main Sts. Police arrested a resident for suspicion of driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance not prescribed to them.

Feb. 27 — Officers investigated a report of a suspicious person. Police assisted Hillsboro Fire Department in the 200 block of N. Main St.

Feb. 28 — Police checked on a suspicious vehicle in the 300 block of N. Ash St.

Feb. 22 — Officers did a welfare check in the 200 block of N. Cedar St. and investigated a suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of S. Lincoln St.

Feb. 23 — Police responded to an out-of-control juvenile in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St. and closed an open garage door.

Feb. 24 — Police mailed a citation for a barking dog to its owner after speaking to neighboring residents in the 100 block of Billings St. Officers checked on a mailbox reported struck in the 1000 block of Industrial Rd.

Feb. 25 — Police investigated a report of a possible scam, but no charges were filed. Officers checked on reports of two dogs running loose in the 500 block of N. Freeborn St., but the owner caught them. A resident in the 500 block of N. Coble St. turned down music after police visited them about a noise complaint. Officers met with several residents about nuisance properties. Police warned a driver for speeding on US-56 near Cedar St. Police investigated a report of a suspicious person near Santa Fe and 3rd Sts., but found no one.

Feb. 26 — Police assisted sheriff’s deputies with a fatality accident on US-56 near Limestone Rd. Officers met with residents about possible theft.

Feb. 27 — Police investigated a report of a reckless driver on US-56, but did not find the vehicle. Residents in the 500 block of N. Coble St. turned down music after officers talked to them about a noise complaint. Officers returned a loose dog to its owner. Police checked out a disturbance in the 1200 block of E. Main St., but took no action. Officers investigated a noise complaint near Cleveland and Grant Sts., but found nothing.

Feb. 28 — Police talked to a dog owner about barking reported in the 100 block of Billings.
