Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Nov. 30 — Police provided traffic control at Santa Fe St. and US-56 for a semi that lost its trailer on the roadway. Two people reported attempted unemployment scams. A person was cited for having dogs running free. A motorist was warned for having equipment violations in the 300 block of W. 3rd St.

Dec. 1 — A person reported an attempted unemployment scam. An officer answered questions about a protection order.

Thursday — A person was cited for having dogs running free.

Friday — Police monitored a residence for possible protection from abuse violations. A report of possible animal abuse proved unfounded. A driving complaint on US-56 proved unfounded.

Saturday — A person was cited for having dogs running free. A motorist received assistance on US-56. A motorist was warned for having equipment violations in the 200 block of W. B St.

Sunday — Police responded to a false alarm at a residence in the 100 block of S. Date St.

Nov. 30 — Officers met with a person about a restraining order.

Dec. 1 — A person was warned for having city ordinance violations at his or her residence. A person was warned for leaving a fire unmonitored in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St. Three motorists were warned for not using headlights. A noise complaint was made in the 300 block of Cleveland St., but nothing was found.

Dec. 2 — Three motorists were warned for various traffic violations. A scam attempt was reported, and the case was referred to another department since it had not occurred in Marion. A report was made of dogs running free in the 100 block of N. Coble St., but no dogs were found.

Thursday — A motorist was warned for parking on the wrong side of the street on N. Cedar St. Five motorists were warned for various traffic violations.

Friday — A report was made of a reckless driver in the 1300 block of E. Main St., and Julie E. Starks, 38, Marion, later was arrested on suspicion of criminal deprivation of property, battery of a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, and driving with a suspended license.

Saturday — Officers investigated a non-injury accident in the 100 block of Fairway Dr. A motorist was warned for speeding.

Sunday — A report was made of a motorcycle at the city’s levee.

Thursday — A complaint was made of someone misusing a bankcard in the 700 block of N. Locust St.

Friday — A scam attempt was reported.
