Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Nov. 8 — A report was made of a 911 hang-up in the 100 block of N. Washington St. A motorist and his passenger were arrested after drugs were found during a traffic stop in the 200 block of S. Main St. Christopher J. Bennett, 38, Salina, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, depressants, and marijuana, according to arrest records. Katie R. Hill, Hillsboro, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and depressants, according to arrest records.

Nov. 9 — A suspicious vehicle at Tabor College proved to be someone visiting a family member. A report was made of an argument between students at Hillsboro High School but the issue was handled by the students’ families before police arrived.

Nov. 10 — Officers responded to false alarms at Dollar General and Casey’s General Store. A motorist was warned for speeding in the 700 block of E. D St. A report was made of a scam attempt. Police assisted with a ruptured gas line caused by a company digging holes for fiber optic lines.

Nov. 11 — A dog owner reported that his dog had escaped in the 300 block of S. Ash St. The dog later was found and returned home. A report of a suspicious person walking near US-56 and Jade Rd. proved unfounded. A motorist was warned for speeding in the 100 block of E. D St.

Thursday — A motorist was cited for speeding in the 400 block of N. Ash St. A Marion man was arrested after a traffic stop for failing to yield in the 300 block of N. Ash St. Justin M. Loomis, 27, was arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended license, according to arrest records.

Friday — A resident was warned for having code violations at their home. A Hillsboro man was arrested after his victim reported being assaulted and threatened in the 100 block of N. Lincoln St. Austin T. Kurtz, 22, was arrested on suspicion of criminal threat and assault with a deadly weapon, according to arrest records.

Saturday — Officers responded to false alarms at Dollar General and Casey’s General Store.

Nov. 9 — A motorist was warned about loose mud on his or her vehicle in the 900 block of Denver St. A report was made of a scam attempt in the 300 block of Grant St. A report was made that a woman had found her son’s stolen bicycle. A report was made of a non-injury accident on private property in the 100 block of N. Lincoln St. A motorist was warned for speeding on US-56 near Upland Rd.

Nov. 10 — Three motorists were warned for speeding on US-56 near Upland Rd.

Nov. 11 — A report was made of a disturbance in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St., but no action was taken by police. A possibly suicidal person was taken to St. Luke Hospital for evaluation.

Thursday — Officers moved a dead deer from the roadway on US-77 near 250th Rd.

Friday — Two motorists were warned for speeding on US-56.

Saturday — Police responded to a false alarm at a business in the 300 block of E. Main St. A report was made of possible threats in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St. Two motorists were warned for equipment violations.

Sunday — Motorists were warned for speeding on US-56, and failing to signal near Cedar and Main Sts. A report was made of people walking with flashlights in the 500 block of N. Coble St., but no one was found.

Peabody

Nov. 9 — Two motorists were cited for speeding on US-50 near Peabody.

Friday — A motorist was cited for speeding on US-50 near Peabody.
