Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

April 4 – A child custody dispute was reported in the 300 block of N. Madison St. Seized property was returned to its owner.

April 5 – Suspicious activity was reported in the 900 block of E. D St. Seized property was returned to its owner. A welfare check was provided in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. Reports of a suspicious person in the 100 block of S. Date St. were unfounded.

April 6 – Suspicious activity was reported near Indigo and Briarwood Lns.

April 7 – A reckless driver was reported in the 300 block of N. Main St. A suspicious vehicle reported in the 900 block of E. C St. was a construction vehicle working in the area. A civil dispute between a property owner and tenant was reported.

Thursday – A scam attempt was reported.

Friday – A disturbance complaint was reported in the 300 block of S. Ash St. A child was warned for picking flowers in a neighbor’s yard without permission.

Saturday – An abandoned vehicle was reported in the 200 block of E. D St. Suspicious activity and a 911 disconnect were reported in the 500 block of W. Grand Ave. A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 300 block of N. Madison St.

Marion

April 6 – A welfare check was provided in the 100 block of N. Freeborn St.

April 7 – A motorist was warned for having no taillights. A suspicious vehicle was reported. Officers put up caution tape and blocked off entrances at Central Park. A welfare check was provided in the 200 block of S. Freeborn St.

April 8 – A dog owner received a citation for a dog complaint in the 100 block of Washington St. An abandoned vehicle was checked on Sandstone Rd. A suspicious person was reported near Freeborn and Hudson Sts., but nothing was found.

Friday – A civil issue was reported. Officers referred a person to Marion County Attorney Office.

Saturday – A non-injury accident was reported on private property in the 1200 block of E. Main St. A noise complaint for loud music was reported on Garfield St. A vehicle with its lights left on was checked in the 900 block of N. Cedar St. A loose dog was reported in the 800 block of Weldon.

Sunday – A motorist was contacted after failing to pay for gas. A motorist was warned for failure to stop at a stop sign near 3rd and Santa Fe Sts. Officers opened Marion Community Building because of a power outage. A disturbance was reported in the 200 block of S. Freeborn St.

April 6 – Criminal damage to property was reported in the 100 block of W. 6th St.

April 8 – A complaint was reported.

Thursday – A found bicycle was picked up and returned to its owner. A trespassing complaint was reported in the 400 block of N. Sycamore St.
