Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

March 2 – A report was taken for an accident on private property at Western Heights Cir. A complaint of juveniles fighting was reported.

March 3 – A report was taken for an accident on private property at Western Heights Circle.

March 4 – Suspicious activity was reported in the 200 block of S. Madison St.

Friday – An abandoned vehicle was reported in the 100 block of E. 1st St. A suspicious person was reported in the 200 block of N. Jefferson St. but no one was found.

A reckless driver was reported on US-56 but nothing was found. Suspicious activity reported in the 400 block of S. Main St. ended up being a property owner doing maintenance work. A lost cell phone was picked up in the 500 block of E. Grand Ave. Suspicious activity was reported at Ampride.

Saturday – Motorists were warned for speeding at 1st and Ash Sts., and at Adams St. and US-56. A motorist received assistance with a flat tire at Kanza Rd. and US-56.

Sunday – A report of a suspicious vehicle in the 300 block of W. 3rd St. proved unfounded. A suspicious noise reported in the 200 block of E. Grand Ave. ended up being a skunk.

Marion

March 2 – A report of a suspicious person in the 300 block of W. Santa Fe St. proved unfounded. A teenager was warned for walking along railroad tracks near Jefferson St. A motorist was warned near US-56 and Upland Rd. for a headlight out.

March 3 – A property owner received assistance removing a person in the 200 block of N. 2nd St. A verbal disturbance was reported at City Hall. A motorist was warned for speeding near Elm and Main Sts.

March 4 – A false alarm was reported in the 1100 block of E. Main St. A motorist was warned for a brake light out in the 100 block of N. 1st St.

Thursday – A person reported losing his/her dog in the 400 block of N. Coble St., which was later found. A motorist was warned for parking on private property in the 200 block of Garfield St.

Friday – Motorists were warned for speeding near 5th and Main Sts., and for no tag light near US-56 and Industrial St.

Saturday – Children were warned for riding bicycles in the street in the 100 block of N. Coble St.

Sunday – A false alarm caused by wind conditions was reported in the 1000 block of Industrial St.
