Activity reports
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.
Hillsboro
Thursday – Motorists were warned for failing to clean off their windshields. A 911 disconnect was reported from a cell phone at Hillsboro High School. Suspicious activity was reported in the 100 block of N. Cedar St., but nothing was found. Smoke reported at a house in the 300 block of N. Jefferson St. was from a furnace. A motorist received assistance at Casey’s parking lot.
Friday – Motorists were warned for speeding in the 100 block of S. Main St., and for failing to stop at a stop sign at A and Adams Sts.
Saturday – A theft was reported in the 300 block of W. 3rd St., with report pending.
Sunday – Suspicious activity was reported at Carquest’s parking lot, but nothing was found. A motorist received a citation for speeding and driving with a suspended license in the 1000 block of S. Ash St.
Marion
Feb. 10 – Suspicious activity was reported. A lost wallet was returned to its owner. A parking complaint was reported near Maple and Roosevelt Sts.
Feb. 11 – A motorist was warned for an illegally parked vehicle in the 200 block of S. Roosevelt. An attempt to serve an arrest warrant was made, but the person couldn’t be found. A motorist was warned for a headlight out.
Feb. 12 – A person met with officers about a civil matter.
Thursday – A loose dog was picked up at Industrial Park and taken to Animal Health Center. A motorist received assistance with frozen vehicle doors in the 200 block of Garfield St. An inappropriate snow sculpture was removed from Marion Central Park’s stage along Luda Creek.
Saturday – A domestic disturbance was investigated in the 200 block of Garfield St., but it was verbal only.
Sunday – A parking complaint was reported for a vehicle parked on private property in the 200 block of S. Freeborn St. A loose dog was taken to AHC. A motorist was warned for a brake light out on Main St. near 4th St.

Feb. 10 – Lost keys were turned in to police.
Friday – A motorist received a ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign.
Saturday – A motorist received a ticket for speeding.
Sunday – A motorist received a ticket for speeding.
