Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Feb. 2 – A motorist received assistance in the 300 block of N. Ash St.

Feb. 3 – A welfare check was provided in the 300 block of N. Ash St. A motorist received assistance in the 300 block of N. Ash St.

Feb. 4 – A lost item was returned to its owner.

Feb. 5 – Suspicious activity was reported in the 200 block of N. Jefferson St., and the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. A gunshot wound was reported in the 400 block of S. Ash St. for a person who accidentally shot himself while cleaning a firearm.

Thursday – A man in the 400 block of N. Ash St. who appeared to be suffering from a medical condition and a mental health disorder was taken to Hillsboro Community Hospital. Suspicious activity was reported in the 200 block of N. Washington St.

Friday – A dog complaint was reported in the 100 block of N. Cedar St. Suspicious activity was reported in the 300 block of N. Washington St.

Saturday – A 911 disconnect was reported in the 900 block of E D St. A welfare check was provided in the 300 block of N. Washington St.

Sunday – Trash was reported blowing across yards in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. Suspicious activity was reported in the 200 block of S. Main St.

Marion

Feb. 3 – A parking complaint was reported in the 200 block of E. Main St. A motorist was warned for speeding near Main and Roosevelt Sts.

Feb. 4 – A loose dog was reported on Main St., but no dog was found. Juveniles were reported using electronic cigarettes. A motorist was warned for no tag light on US-56 near Remington Rd.

Feb. 5 – A motorist was warned for a headlight out. A business owner was warned for throwing old ice in the road. Possible drug paraphernalia was picked up from a concerned person in the 200 block of E. Main St. Motorists were warned for a tail light out in the 300 block of E. Main St., and for headlight out near Main and Locust Sts.

Thursday – A parking complaint was reported. A possible stolen vehicle was reported, which ended up being a civil matter. A loose dog was reported 200 block of S. Coble St., but no dog was found. A vehicle in the 300 block of S. 2nd St. with expired registration was marked for towing.

Friday – A suspicious person was reported near Hudson and Roosevelt Sts., but no one matching the description was found. A person received assistance with wheelchair issues. A suspicious person was reported near Lawrence and Coble Sts. A dog owner received assistance catching his/her dog. Motorists received citations for speeding on US-56 near Cedar St.

Saturday – A motorist was warned for speeding near Cedar and Main Sts.

Sunday – A loose dog was reported in the 400 block of N. Roosevelt St. It was later caught by the dog owner. A reckless driver was reported on US-56. Loose dogs in the 100 block of W. Santa Fe St. were retrieved by their owner.
