Hillsboro
Jan. 7 — A child custody dispute was reported in the 300 block of N. Jefferson St.
Jan. 8 — Hillsboro School District received assistance with a student who had not attended school for two months. A dog complaint was reported, and the dog owner was contacted. A motorist received assistance with a vehicle lockout.
Thursday — A harassment complaint was reported in the 900 block of E. D St. A Texas man reported a scam attempt originating from a Hillsboro phone number, which proved unfounded.
Saturday — A domestic disturbance was reported in the 100 block of N. Main St., which proved verbal only.
Sunday — A scam attempt was reported in the 100 block of S. Date St. A prowler was reported in the 300 block of N. Birch St.
Marion
Jan. 7 — Officers met with a person about property seized as evidence. A person was warned for burning leaves and animal waste in the 100 block of Billings St. Suspicious activity was reported in the 800 block of Lawrence St.
Thursday — A downed power line was checked near Highland and Freeborn Sts.
Friday — A dog was picked up at Animal Health Center. A suspicious person was reported in the 800 block of N. Cedar St., but no one was found.
Saturday — A suspicious person was reported in the 300 block of Tanglewood St., but no one was found.
Peabody
Jan. 8 — Assistance was provided for a child custody dispute in the 200 block of N. Vine St.
Saturday — An unattended death was investigated in the 800 block of N. Poplar St. A traffic complaint was reported in the 400 block of N. Spruce St.
