Poker tourney raises money

Friends of Bob Phillips gathered July 1 at the Peabody American Legion for the fifth annual Bob Phillips Texas Hold ’Em Tournament. Twenty-five players turned out to help raise money for a scholarship fund.

The pink T-shirt award for the first player out of the tournament went to Ted Daniels of Durham. High hand of four aces went to Jacob Daniels of Durham.

Pat Allnutt of Hillsboro claimed first place in the tournament, Bob Williamson of Hillsboro took second, John Morris of Peabody took third, and Fred Allnutt of Hillsboro took fourth.

The tournament raised a $500 prize pool for those who participated and $520 was donated to the Bob Phillips Memorial Scholarship fund.
