Nancy Pihl of the Marion County Extension office will talk about nutrition and health Monday at Peabody Senior Center.
The center also has planned a hamburger cookout for July 15 as a fundraiser.
“We hope everyone will circle the date on the calendar,” site co-manager Ruth Lott said, “and watch for more information in the weeks to come.”
The center requires that people planning to eat lunch there call (620) 983-2226 in the day or evening before. Callers may leave their name and date of the meal on an answering machine.
Seniors 60 and older may eat a balanced meal for $2.75. Anyone 59 or younger may also eat at the center, paying $4.50 for the meal. There is no charge for any of the entertainment or programs hosted by the center.
Co-managers Lott and Arlene Unruh are available to answer questions about the center between 9 and 12:30 each weekday.
“It will be worth the effort to come join us,” Lott said.
Meals at the center begin at 11:45 each day.
