Boys set 4x800 school record

Lauren Pickens might need a new medal case.
The sophomore picked up three more medals Friday at the Moundridge regional — taking first in the 100-, 200-, and 400-meter dashes.
Her times were 12.54, 26.44, and 58.99 seconds respectively.
Teammates Michaela Methvin, Mikayla Winter, and Traylee Woodruff will be joining her at state.
Pickens and her teammates also took fourth in the 4x100m relay with a time of 54.43.
On the boys’ side, Jacob Simmonds, Sheldon Wiebe, Josh Klarmann, and Aaron Topham set a school record in the 4x800 with a time of eight minutes, 27.71 seconds while taking third place.
Topham also will compete at state as an individual after taking second in the 3200m run with a time of 10:44.56.
Kendal Wiebe was fourth in the 3200 (10:55.93), and Isaac Burnett was third in the discus with a toss of 119 feet, six inches.
