The Peabody-Burns High School track team competed Friday in the Marion Relays track meet.
Lauren Pickens swept the sprints, winning the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.37 seconds, the 200 with a time of 25.79, and 400 with a time of 58.48.
She was also part of the fifth-place 4x100 relay team with Beckah McCullough, Paige Lewis, and Silvia Flores, 54.59.
Lewis placed fifth in the 100 hurdles, 18.67.
Sheldon Wiebe placed multiple times for the boys team. He finished fifth in the 800, 2:07.63, and fifth in the 1600, 4:57.25.
Seth Topham finished fifth in the high jump with a leap of 5-6. He was also part of the third-place 4x100 relay team with Allen McLaughlin, Zachary Preheim, and Andrew Scheffler, 49.82.
Pickens picked up four first-place medals April 5 when the PBHS track team competed in the Little River Central Kansas League meet at Sterling.
She won the 100-, 200-, 400-, and 800-meter races.
The boys team placed third overall and the girls team placed fourth.
“This was a very good first meet for the boy’s team and each of them found out what they need to improve throughout the year,” Coach Brian Lightner said. “For the girls team, every one of them was able to place and represented the school very well. They placed fourth out of five teams with only four girls participating.”
