Peterson brother to entertain at Goessel

Fireworks show Saturday

Greg Peterson of Assaria, one of the three Peterson Brothers of farm video fame, will give a presentation at Goessel Threshing Days at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the high school auditorium.

Peterson will explain how the brothers got started making videos and the lessons learned in advocating for agriculture online.

Donations will be accepted and will go to Mennonite Heritage and Agricultural Museum, with a portion to Tabor Food Pantry.

Breakfast, lunch, and supper will be available daily, Friday through Sunday.

Gates will open at 12 p.m. Friday to the wheat heritage grounds. Sawmill, threshing, and field demonstrations will be offered every afternoon.

Saturday events will include a 9:30 a.m. parade, 2 p.m. pedal tractor pull, and 3 p.m. landscape painting with Cindy Sigmond, a Newton artist.

A draft horse demonstration is scheduled for all afternoon Saturday, and large engine start-ups will be offered every day.

Other Saturday activities will include a 5k run and 4-on-4 sand volleyball tournament. A fireworks show will be at dusk at the ball diamonds.

Sunday will begin with a 7 to 9 a.m. worship and song celebration, followed by an 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. dinner. Landscape painting will be offered again at 1 p.m. A raffle drawing will be at 2 p.m.

The day will conclude with a 4:30 to 7 p.m. supper.
