A memorial service for Penny Janiece (Hanes) (Hedrick) Helland, 53, who died Jan. 3 in Coupeville, Washington, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Florence.

A potluck luncheon will follow at Florence Masonic Hall.

She was born Sept. 10, 1962, to Kenneth and Beverly Hanes in Marion. She was raised in Peabody and Marion, graduating from Marion High School in 1982. The family moved to Whidbey Island, Washington, in 1987.

She was preceeded in death by a sister, Donita, and a brother, Tony.

She is survived by her husband Darren Helland of Whidbey Island, Washington.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donors make gifts to their favorite charities.
