Peabody Seniors welcome warm weather and upcoming activities

“The weather has finally warmed up in Peabody and many of our seniors are out in their yards and gardens,” said Ruth Lott, co-site manager at the Peabody Senior Center. “Some moisture would be helpful. Do we ever quit wanting something more or different?”

On May 12, the center will host its monthly birthday celebration dinner at 11:45 a.m.

“Be sure to call in your reservation,” Lott said. “We always have such a good time and Kim Nellans’ oven friend chicken with all the trimmings is a wonderful meal. You are missing out if you don’t come for the monthly birthday dinner.”

The board will meet at 9:30 a.m. May 16. Anyone who is interested is welcome to attend. After the noonday meal, Nancy Phiel of Marion County Extension Office will speak to center members about nutrition.

May menus are available at the center.

Meals may be reserved by calling (620) 983-2226 (leave a message if no one is available). For more information, call the center from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and speak with Lott or Arlene Unruh.
