Peabody Senior Center members are benefiting from the harvest beginning to come from Peabody gardeners.

“We are so blessed to have fresh produce coming in to the center from local gardens,” site manager Ruth Lott said. “Everyone is certainly enjoying that special part of summer. We appreciate all the gardeners who are thinking of us.”

Bingo is on tap for Thursday after lunch. Each participant should bring a couple of candy bars to put into a prize basket.

The center will have a business meeting Tuesday. As a special treat, cook Kim Nellans will serve pizza. Lott reminds patrons to make reservations at (620) 983-2226 in advance so enough pizza can be made.

Kevin Paul Allen of Allen Eye Associates will speak about vision after lunch July 24. His topic will be “Seeing Well as You Grow Older.” Reservations are not needed for the presentation.

Monday — Chicken tenders, potato wedges, carrots, pineapple upside-down cake, whole wheat bread.

Tuesday — Pizza, salad, fruit.

July 24 — Pork chop, lima beans, broccoli, frosted cake, whole wheat bread.

July 25 — Hamburger on a bun, lettuce, tomato, and onion, baked beans, potato salad, melon mix.
