Peabody Senior Center reminds everyone that March birthdays will be celebrated March 6.
“We’d like to have everyone with a March birthday come and celebrate with us,” site manager Ruth Lott said. “Or if you do not have a March birthday, come anyway and celebrate with those who do.”
The senior center also would like the public to remember it will host weekly Lenten services every Wednesday immediately following lunch. A minister from a community or area church will conduct the services. On March 7, the Rev. Marilyn Cox will speak.
The center will host World Day of Prayer at 12:15 p.m. Friday. It is open to the public.
Dinner is served each weekday at 11:45 a.m. Reservations can be made by phone at (620) 983-2226 a day ahead. There is an answering machine to allow those calling late to make a reservation.
Home delivery of the same nutritious meals is available as well by calling the same number and requesting delivery.
Volunteers also are always welcome and Lott and her staff will work to schedule people who want to work only a few hours as well as those who want to volunteer on a regular basis.
