Peabody Senior Center site manager Ruth Lott said seniors will begin their annual peppernut baking on Oct. 8 after the noon meal is over and the kitchen volunteers have finished their cleanup duties.

“This is our biggest fundraiser and we sure need to have all our volunteers on hand to help,” Lott said.

The senior citizens will bake peppernuts every Monday and Thursday through Nov. 15.

Anyone with questions may call Lott at (620) 983-2226 for more information.

Meals at the center are served at 11:45 a.m. each weekday. To be sure there is enough food prepared for everyone, reservations are preferred a day in advance by calling (620) 983-2226. There is an answering machine to leave a message or reservation if no one is there to take the call.
