Peabody Senior Center

Peabody Senior Center will offer Lenten services every Wednesday through the season of Lent. Services will be immediately after lunch, provided by community ministers. Everyone is invited to attend, whether they eat at the senior center or not.

“This is a community service provided by Peabody Senior Center,” site manager Ruth Lott said. “If anyone needs to know what who is speaking on a given week, they may call the center to find out.”

A Wii Bowling tournament will be Thursday right after lunch and is open to all seniors.

“We are always looking for new programs or topics of interest at the center,” Lott said. “Anyone with a hobby or gift or a special knowledge they would like to share would be welcome. Just call the center and we will be glad to put you on the calendar!”

Dinner is served each weekday at 11:45 a.m. Reservations can be made by phone, (620) 983-2226, a day ahead. There is an answering machine to allow those calling late to make a reservation.

Volunteers also are always welcome and Lott and her staff will work to schedule people who want to work only a few hours as well as those who want to volunteer on a regular basis.

“Volunteering is proven to improve your mental and physical well-being,” Lott said. “Helping others helps the volunteer also.”

For more information contact the senior center at (620) 983-2226.
