Peabody native will entertain Sunday

Peabody native Herschel Stroud will perform as part of the Sleepy Creek Concert Series in Santa Fe Park Sunday evening.

The concert, which begins at 7 p.m., will feature the Rip Chords, a barbershop quartet from Topeka. The group has performed together since 1962 and is a Barbershop Harmony Society-registered quartet. Together they have more than 150 years of quartet singing experience.

Stroud grew up in Peabody and is a 1948 graduate of Peabody High School.

Partners of Peabody Parks and Peabody Main Street present the Sleepy Creek concert series the last Sunday of the month during the summer and early fall.

A light meal with drink and dessert will be served with cost by donation. Funds raised by the concert series will be used to build a restroom in Santa Fe Park.

Attendees are reminded to bring a lawn chair.

For more information contact Shane Marler at the Main Street Office, (620) 983-2113.
