Peabody, Hillsboro banks may merge

Vintage Bank Kansas and Hillsboro State Bank are proposing to merge.
Vintage will file paperwork with the state bank commissioner and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation seeking consent for the merger, operating officer Jena Lee Stucky said.
Members of the public may file written comments with the commissioner, 700 SW Jackson, Suite 300, Topeka, KS 66603.
The commissioner will review comments received by Feb. 15. All comments will be subject to disclosure through the Kansas Open Records Act.
Members of the public also may send comments to the regional director of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, 1100 Walnut St., Suite 2100, Kansas City, MO 64106. Comments to FDIC need to be filed by Feb. 18.
Non-confidential portions of the application are on file at the regional FDIC office and can be viewed during regular business hours or requested from the office.
Stucky declined to provide further information at this time.
