Peabody fall cleanup week begins Monday

The city of Peabody will sponsor citywide cleanup days from Sept. 29 to Oct. 4.

Manned roll-off Dumpsters will be at First and Olive streets from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Oct. 4.

The Dumpsters will be operated by Stutzman Refuse Service and are for residential customers inside the city limits. Be prepared to show proof of residence with a driver’s license or water bill stub.

No yard waste or construction and demolition materials will be accepted. Yard waste (grass, leaves, limbs) may be taken to the city burn pit and demolition material (Sheetrock, lumber, siding, etc.) may be taken to the transfer station in Marion at 320 W. Santa Fe.

Tires may be taken to the roll-off Dumpster site. A charge of $4 per tire applies.

Curbside pickup will be Friday. Residents using curbside pickup should remember to bag, box, or bundle items to collected. Items heaped in a pile at the curb will not be picked up.

Metal items should be set apart. A different truck and crew will pick up these items.

Appliances will be picked up, but MUST have a special tag from the city office. All refrigerators and freezers must have their doors removed and must have an advance tag.
