Peabody community Thanksgiving dinner planned

A Peabody Community Thanksgiving dinner will be 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 19 at Peabody-Burns Elementary School lunchroom.

Everyone in the community is invited to attend.

A host of volunteers will prepare turkey, dressing, potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans, rolls, and desserts.

There is no charge for the dinner. Organizers hope community members will attend and enjoy the food and fellowship.

A special account, Community Thanksgiving Organization, has been established at Peabody State Bank. Individuals or businesses that wish to make donations to help defray expenses are encouraged to contribute to the fund.

The organization also will be collecting clean coats and blankets in good condition. They will be distributed after the dinner to people who need them. To donate coats or blankets, contact Luba Brinkman at (620) 983-2202 or take them to her home at 609 Poplar St., Peabody, or Sarah Pohlman at (620) 983-2468 or take them to her home at 208 E. Fourth St., Peabody.
