Thursday

Summer reading program, “Every Hero Has a Story,” from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Peabody Township Library for toddlers to fifth grade. Snacks, activities, and story time available each week.

Friday

Movie Night on the Lawn begins at 9 p.m. at Peabody-Burns Elementary School. No admission charges. Sponsored by Peabody-Burns Recreation Commission. Participants should bring blankets or lawn chairs. Free popcorn and snow cones.

Monday

Peabody City Council meets at 7 p.m. in city building.

USD 398 Board of Education meets at 7 p.m. in central office.

Wednesday

Rec Commission trip to All-Star Adventures (East) for ages 10 and older. Admission $20 per person for three hours of unlimited use of various attractions (miniature golf, go-karts, bumper boats, amusement rides). Participants should bring a sack lunch or money to buy lunch. Bus leaves high school at 10:30 a.m. and returns at 4 p.m.

Hamburger/hog dog cookout from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Peabody Senior Center with musical entertainment by the McKinney sisters beginning at 5:30 p.m. Donations accepted.
