Peabody-Burns REC activities begin

Several classes and activities sponsored by Peabody-Burns Recreation Commission have started. Others will soon begin. District patrons received a schedule of offerings several weeks ago.

To enroll in a class, contact recreation commission director Russ Busenitz at 620-344-8380 or the contact person listed on the schedule.

Beginning and advanced computer classes will be offered at the Burns Library. Each session is limited to five students and will be taught by Barb Stuhlsatz.

The beginner’s class will meet from 8 to 9 a.m. the first two Saturdays of the month. Classes for advanced computer students will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. the first two Mondays of the month or from 7 to 8 a.m. the first two Saturdays.

There is no charge to participate in these classes.

Adult basketball at the Brown gymnasium is open to men and women from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday afternoons. There is no charge to participate.

Basic digital photography will be offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 29 in the computer room at Peabody-Burns Elementary School. The instructor is Annette Weems. Participants MUST have a digital camera.

There is no cost for the class, but interested patrons should register a week in advance.

Additional activities and events will take place in the coming months.
