Peabody-Burns OKs
joint street project
Peabody-Burns school board last week approved its portion of a 2021 joint street project with the city of Peabody.
Peabody-Burns’ portion of the $671,000 project would cost $55,020.50.
Proposed construction would include multiple roads that run adjacent to the high school or elementary school, such as N. Sycamore St.
Darin Neufeld of EBH Engineering said at a recent city council meeting that the collaboration could give them an edge in securing grants for the project because it benefits two entities — a city and a school district.
The school board accepted the resignation of high school English teacher Sarah McQuery, who has taught at the school since 2015.
