Peabody-Burns Junior High loses to Solomon

The Peabody-Burns Junior High School football team lost its home opener Thursday. Solomon defeated the squad, 36-20. The next contest for the team will be Thursday at Canton with kickoff at 6:30 p.m.

The Solomon offense scored 30 points in the first half. They held the Junior Warriors scoreless in the same period and led, 30-0, at halftime.

Solomon added one more score early in third quarter, but the Junior Warriors answered with a 26-yard touchdown run by Clayton Philpott. Philpott scored again for PBJHS in the fourth quarter with a 21-yard run. The Junior Warriors cut the Solomon lead, 36-12, in the fourth.

The Junior Warriors had one more touchdown late in the game when Cody Partridge completed a 6-yard pass to Philpott for the score. A Partridge 2-point conversion pass to Colton Glenn was on target with just seconds left in the contest. PBJHS was defeated by Solomon, 36-20.
