Peabody-Burns golfer qualifies for state

Peabody-Burns student Pablo Verdugo earned a chance to tee off at state after he shot 108 to place 17th in regional competition Monday in Hutchinson. “Pablo came a long way, as he was a foreign exchange student and this was his first exposure to golf,” coach Scott Bauer said.

As a team, the Warriors shot a 492 at regional competition.

Jorge Benito shot a 124, Max Caldwell a 127, Rocco Weerts a 133, Mallory Harris a 151, and Anna Lubbers a 156.

Verdugo will compete again Monday at Goodland.
