Peabody-Burns demolishes Flinthills

Peabody-Burns played only one half of football Friday, as the 52-6 lead they rolled up in the first two quarters against Flinthills triggered the 45-point rule to end the game at halftime.

Braxton Kyle got the Warriors on the board early on a 7-yard touchdown run with 10 minutes, 2 seconds left in the first quarter.

Peabody-Burns scored again 5 minutes later on a fumble recovery by Dakota Reynolds. The Warriors added touchdown runs of 35 yards by Clayton Philpott and 15 yards by Brooks Hodges to lead 30-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Philpott scored again on a 25-yard run at 8:32 of the second quarter. Colton Terronez recovered a Flinthills fumble for a touchdown, and Brooks Hodges ran 21 yards for the final Warriors touchdown.

Flinthills scored its only touchdown on a 76-yard kickoff return in the second quarter.

Peabody-Burns had 198 yards of total offense, while the defense allowed Flinthills only 32 total yards.

Two Peabody-Burns players picked up 139 yards rushing on only eight plays. Philpott ran the ball four times for 83 yards, and Kyle had four carries for 56 yards.

The Warriors will host Madison on Friday for homecoming.
