Peabody-Burns business students qualify for nationals

Peabody-Burns Business Professionals of America competed in the state leadership conference Feb. 20 and 21 in Wichita. Several team members placed and qualified for nationals April 30 through May 4 in Indianapolis, Ind.

Nineteen group members competed in state, each competing in two events.

Those placing at state and qualifying for nationals were, Xavier Jabary, who placed first in database; Dakota Reynolds, third in database; Nicholas Preheim, fourth in database; and Anna Lubbers, first in fundamental spreadsheet.

Garrett Schroeder placed ninth in banking and finance, and Katy Benson placed sixth in fundamental accounting, but came short of qualifying for nationals.

The website design team, comprised of Preheim, Rylie McDowell, and Benson, placed fourth.

On the way to nationals the group will make several stops including touring the St. Louis Gateway Arch, and the NCAA Museum in St. Louis. They will also participate in a walk to benefit Special Olympics.
