PBHS spring athletic banquetwill honor high school teams

Reservations required

Peabody-Burns Athletic Director Ray Savage has announced the PBHS spring athletic banquet will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Brown building. (Note the time change from the 7 p.m. starting time on the school calendar.)

High school teams to be honored are basketball, bowling, cheerleading, golf, and track. Athletes of the year will be announced and senior plaques will be handed out.

The banquet will be a meal of one hamburger or two hot dogs, chips, relish tray, brownie, and drink for $6, hosted by Business Professionals of America national qualifiers and sponsor Patty Savage.

The group is raising funds to offset expenses of attending a national competition May in Washington, D. C.

The athletic department will cover the cost of the meals for the athletes and coaches. All money raised will go to BPA for the trip.

The meal will be available from 6:30 to 7 p.m. with coaches’ presentations to follow.

“Since this is a meal instead of a dessert bar, reservations are needed,” Ray Savage said. “They can be made by calling the high school office at (620) 983-2196 or my cell phone at (620) 382-4377.

“We need to have reservations in by Thursday. In addition, remember this is a banquet. Everyone should dress accordingly,” he added.
