Five Peabody-Burns High School musicians performed in the Kansas State High School Activities Association State Solo and Small Ensemble Festival on Saturday at Kansas Wesleyan University.

French horn soloist Taylor Ensminger, alto saxophone soloist McKenzie Ensminger, and baritone saxophone soloist Seth Topham each received the top available rating, I. Flute soloists Bethany Loucks and Jenipher Huls each received a II rating.

They qualified for the event by receiving I ratings at the regional festival in April. I ratings are awarded to “outstanding” performances. A II rating represents an “excellent” performance.
