PBHS musicians qualify for state

Peabody-Burns High School musicians competed Saturday at Tabor College for the Kansas State High School Activities Association Regional Solo and Small Ensemble Festival.

The clarinet quartet received a I rating, as did soloists Derek Schmidt, bass clarinet; Seth Topham, baritone saxophone; McKenzie Ensminger, alto saxophone; Julie Wedel, flute; Chris Loucks, clarinet; and Taylor Ensminger, French horn. Those students qualified to perform at the State Solo and Small Ensemble Festival April 24.

Musicians receiving II ratings were the trumpet trio, flute trio, and soloists Bethany Loucks, flute; Amy Wedel, flute; Joshua Klarmann, trombone; and Chris Loucks, vocal.
