The Peabody-Burns High School Lady Warriors had two games at home this past week.
They collected a victory Jan. 13 against Goessel, 33-28, but lost Friday to Moundridge, 59-26.
The squad is 2-8 on the season and has a week off to prepare for the Berean Tournament.
Goessel
The Bluebirds took the early lead, 2-0, against PBHS.
Julie Wedel put PBHS on the board with a free throw. Traylee Woodruff scored a basket and a free throw and PBHS led, 4-2.
Goessel added only one more score in the first, but a PBHS basket from Wedel gave the Lady Warriors the edge at the end of the quarter, 6-4.
Both offenses scored 10 points in the second. Wedel and Danielle Savage had three points each. Michaela Methvin and Stephanie Rempel each added a basket. PBHS led 16-14 at the half.
The lead changed to favor the Bluebirds early in the third quarter, 19-16, with five quick points by Goessel.
PBHS came back to take the lead late in the fourth with two points from Bayleigh Clark and also a basket from Savage.
Goessel eclipsed the Lady Warriors again before the end of the quarter and PBHS was down, 21-20.
The Lady Warrior offense did the job in the fourth, scoring 13 points.
Savage scored four points and Clark, Methvin, and Rempel each had a basket.
Woodruff had three free throws including two late in the game to give the Lady Warriors the five-point edge. PBHS claimed its second victory of the season, 33-28.
Savage led the team with nine points and 10 rebounds. Clark had three assists.

Moundridge
Savage scored an early basket to put the Lady Warriors on the board against the Lady Wildcats.
Moundridge then went on a 7-0 run and PBHS was down by five.
Rempel and Clark each added a basket in the quarter, but Moundridge had the 11-6 edge at the end of one.
The Moundridge offense increased its lead in the second with the addition of 16 points.
PBHS had a basket from Woodruff and a three-pointer from Wedel
The Lady Warriors trailed at the half, 27-11.
Moundridge continued to pull away from PBHS in the second half. The Lady Wildcats pumped in 32 and the Lady Warriors had just 15.
Baskets in the second half came from Methvin, Clark, Sarah Hofkamp, Felecia Pohlman, Woodruff, Rempel and Paige Barnes. Savage contributed a free throw.
