Seven members of Peabody-Burns FFA Chapter attended the 81st annual FFA National Convention Oct. 20-25 at Indianapolis, Ind.
Those who attended were Heather Brooks, Justin Rempel, Nick Morgan, Zach Goodwin, Dustin Miller, Lacy Laffery, and Derek Schmidt.
They left at 7 a.m. Oct. 20 for the 12-hour trip with adviser Glenn Bechtel.
The group met other FFA chapters from the U.S. They attended a Taylor Swift concert Oct. 22. James Otto was the opening act.
The next day, the chapter went to leadership workshops and a career fair. The fair included employers informing students of agricultural job opportunities. Many agricultural colleges also were at the event to display information.
On Oct. 25, the Peabody-Burns chapter went to the Indy Motor Speedway where they toured the track and surrounding buildings. After the tour, the chapter went to a rodeo to see the Dodge Extreme Bulls. More than 40 of the toughest bulls in the U.S. and 40 of the best cowboy competed for large cash prizes.
The experiences and memories will not soon be forgotten by the students.
The chapter hosted the annual Birds and Breakfast Pancake Feed from 6 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Peabody Senior Center. Proceeds benefit Peabody-Burns FFA Chapter
