Five instrumental music students from Peabody-Burns High School took part in 2A state competition for solo and small ensemble groups April 25 in Concordia.
“The students had qualified for state festival by receiving ‘I’ ratings at regional competition,” said director Steve Glover. “They all did a great job at the state level.”
Bethanny Loucks and Julie Wedel both performed flute solos and each girl earned a II.
Taylor Ensminger, French horn, Joshua Klarmann, trombone, and Christopher Loucks, clarinet, each received a I for their solos.
All five of the students will perform their solos at the Band Barbecue and Spring Music Extravaganza.
“Congratulations to the students for a job well done,” Glover added.
