On April 18, the Peabody-Burns High School band went to Haven High School to participate in the KSHSAA State Large Group Music Festival.
The band performed two pieces, “Accolade” by William Himes and “Where the Black Hawk Soars” by Robert W. Smith, for ratings and comments from three judges.
“The students played very well,” band director Steven Glover said. “They received a 2 or ‘Excellent’ rating, missing an ‘Outstanding’ or 1 rating by only a few points.”
The band members had the opportunity to listen to other bands perform before returning to PBHS.
