Peabody-Burns Athletic Director Ray Savage has announced the athletic department will host a banquet to honor athletes and cheer squad members who participated in fall sports. The banquet will be at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 5 in the Brown gymnasium.
“Everyone should note the time,” Savage said. “It is different than what is printed on the district calendar.
“In fact, there are several changes in effect this year. The banquet will be a full meal, compliments of the athletic department, the football food fund, Travis Foth, and the FCCLA class.”
A couple of things will remain the same, he said.
“There is no charge to any athlete or guest for the meal. In addition, we would remind everyone that it is a banquet. Please dress accordingly.”
Since a full meal will be prepared and served, the athletic department would like to have a head count of students and their guests who plan to attend.
The menu includes a whole hog barbecue prepared by Travis Foth, baked potato, green beans, roll, and a drink prepared and served by FCCLA students.
At 8 p.m., a parents meeting will take place to discuss high school basketball teams. Insurance, physicals, and medical releases will be reviewed and coaches will be given an opportunity to discuss their programs.
To RSVP for the banquet or for more information, contact Savage at (620) 983-2196, (620) 382-4377, or by e-mail at rsavage@usd398.com before the end of school Friday.
